That sparkler's a bit of a give away, Rachel

Wedding bells are tintinnabulation again for Kiwi exemplar Rachel Hunter after loose lips - and an enormous diamond ring - gave the game away.

As Hunter visited Hautapu Primary School near Cambridge yesterday with her Canadian iCE hockey star boyfriend Jarret Stoll to help launch a reading initiative for children, all eyes turned to the glittering rock candy on her finger.

Speculation has been rife about a possible engagement since Hunter and Stoll - at 26, 13 years her junior - arrived in Auckland this week.

Hunter and Stoll, world Health Organization plays for the Los Angeles Kings, have been together for about two years and have a house in Los Angeles.

Though the pair said cipher on television camera about any impending wedding, 3 News reported that Stoll had confirmed they were engaged - telling its newsman "the marriage proposal was romanticistic" but no date had been set.

Hunter's long-time handler, ex-All Black Andy Haden, confirmed to The Dominion Post that the engagement was a "safe bet".

Hunter, who split from rock-legend husband Rod Stewart, 63, almost 10 years ago, had her first taste of stardom in a Trumpet ice cream commercial.

She is back in New Zealand with her children to Stewart, Renee, 16, and Liam, 14.

Hunter told New Idea lowest month that while she was glad to possess more children, marriage was "something I guess I am open to merely it's non something I need in my life".
